9th UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism
The World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) and its Affiliate Member, the Basque Culinary Center (BCC), jointly with the Government of Bahrain, will organize the 9th UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism on 18-19 November 2024 in Manama, Bahrain.
Under the theme "Gastronomy Tourism: a driver of economic diversification and inclusion”, the Forum will convene, through panel discussions, presentations, masterclasses and thematic visits, destinations, and international experts to explore the transformative potential of Gastronomy Tourism to become a driver of economic diversification and inclusion, fostering social and environmental sustainability, and enhancing regional cohesion and resilience of local communities.
Held for the first time in the Middle East, the Forum will bring together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and renowned chefs, to unveil how gastronomy tourism can also build a strong image for destinations, through innovative practices and initiatives around the world.
The UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism was created with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences between experts in tourism and gastronomy, to identify good practices and to promote gastronomy tourism as a factor of development of destinations.
