UNWTO in collaboration with the Mekong Tourism Coordination Office (MTCO) and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar (MoHT) will be hosting the UNWTO-MTCO International Conference on Tourism and Heritage Protection to be held in Mandalay, Myanmar on the 12^th June 2014.

The international conference will provide an introduction to the relationship between heritage and sustainable tourism, referencing case studies of best practice in heritage conservation from countries throughout Asia and Europe. A key focus of the event will be the discussion of policy formulation in regards to the sustainable management of Myanmar´s rich abundance of cultural heritage sites and their long term protection and conservation.
