Following a first edition that received over 100 applications, UN Tourism has launched the second edition of the Women in Tech Startup Competition within the framework of the AIM Congress in Abu Dhabi. This competition is aimed at female entrepreneurs in the Middle East.
Community Tourism shines in Cuba
The UN Tourism regional commission for the Americas recently convened in Varadero, Cuba. The event, attended by high-level ministerial representatives, local communities, and sector experts, included a seminar focused on community tourism.

First initiatives on UN Tourism and Saudi Arabia education agreement
These include 10 new courses in the Tourism Online Academy in 5 languages and the implementation of the TedQual and TFDP (Tourism Faculty Development) certification programmes for academic programmes and teaching staff.
960 Scholarships for Tourism Education in Latin America
Latin America recognizes the importance of education and technical training, which are crucial for UN Tourism. As a result, the organization has awarded a total of 960 scholarships in the region for online courses through our Tourism Online Academy.

Extension of Application Deadline for Green Projects Challenge with CAF
The Green Projects challenge, launched by UN Tourism and CAF (the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean), has extended its deadline for applications until June 30th. Entrepreneurs from the region can continue to apply.
