Open Call for Academic Partnership
The UN Tourism Academy is seeking academic partners for the development and delivery of a series of training programmes in Central Asia. These programmes, focused on Hospitality Management, will take place during 2025, and the delivery should start during the first quarter of 2025.
Training Structure:
For the proposal, please consider that the training activity should:
- Be modular: Each topic should represent a module that students may enrol individually.
- Be accumulative: Those students who successfully pass multiple modules (topics) should be granted a higher-level professional certificate.
- Recognition: The certificates for each individual unit, as well as for the professional certificate, will be issued by the UN Tourism Academy and will mention the academic partner, as well as it will include the Academic partner’s logo.
- Timing and delivery: Each module should have a maximum duration of 36 hours, from which a minimum of 20 hours should be onsite training.
- Number of Students: For the short-term programme (per module), the maximum number of students per unit is approximately 13, and for the long-term programme (8 modules in total), the maximum number of students total is 90.
Training Modules:
Academic partners will collaborate on developing and delivering training sessions on the following topics:
- Innovative, Alternative, and Sustainable Trends in Tourism
- Entrepreneurship, Business Modelling, and Crisis Management
- Project Management and International HR
- Advanced Finance and Budgeting
- Marketing Strategies & Data Analytics for Hotel Management
- Revenue Management
- Hospitality Real Estate and Investment
- Event Management
Contract Terms:
The initial contract term with the selected academic partner will be one year. Based on the results, quality evaluation, and successful completion of the programme objectives, the contract may be extended for new cohorts during 2026 or more periods if the sponsoring institution requests. The contract will be between the UN Tourism Academy and the academic partner, being the academic partner responsible for hiring the experts, professors, trainers, or third parties to give support on any aspect related to the delivery of the proposed
training activities.
Eligibility Criteria for Academic Partners:
Interested academic institutions or organizations must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Proven Academic and Professional Expertise: Extensive experience in delivering training and education in the topics listed above. World-class recognised institutions will be highly considered.
- International and Regional Knowledge: A strong understanding of global trends and preferably familiarity with the Central Asian tourism and hospitality sector, including the present situation and the opportunities in this high-potential development region.
- Capacity for Interactive and Practical Teaching: Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, practice-oriented, interactive educational sessions.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in designing and delivering online and onsite education
- UN Tourism Knowledge: Familiarity with the UN Tourism´s objectives, initiatives, and methodologies is an advantage.
Scope of Services:
Selected academic partners will collaborate with the UN Tourism Academy to:
- Develop Training Programmes: Structure and schedule the assigned training sessions.
- Prepare Training Materials: Create high-quality educational resources tailored to the program’s objectives.
- Deliver Training Programmes: Conduct in-person and online sessions as per the schedule.
- Provide Recommendations: Submit a final report including insights and actionable recommendations for future training.

Interested academic partners are invited to submit their applications, including:
- A detailed profile of the institution, highlighting relevant expertise and experience.
- A proposal outlining the approach to program development and delivery.
- Resumes of key team members involved.
- Examples of past projects and references.
