Session 1 (12:00-14:00hrs)
First in-person meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative
Following the launch of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative on 22nd January 2020, the Advisory Committee will focus on identifying next steps for accommodation businesses and destinations to become signatories, continue developing commitments for other subsectors - among them tour operators and airlines -, as well as further define the role for associations in the Initiative.
Session 2 (14:30-16:30hrs)
Sustainable Tourism Programme’s Strategy Review – Preliminary discussion
Following the renewal of the lead and co-leads of the One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme in 2019, the development of a strategy for the implementation of the programme from 2020 to 2022 is in progress. During this working session, the results of the consultation with partners carried out late 2019 will be presented and next steps for the preparation of the strategy identified.
