The monitoring work focuses on “multi-ethnicity”, ” border trade”, “tourism property development”, “protection of indigenous interests”, “inheritance and protection of minority cultures” and “protection of tropical rainforests”. CURRENT MONITORING PROCESSES
Current monitoring revolves around two topics: one is the normalized management under the epidemic, and the other is the standardization of the tourism market in Yunnan Province, both of which directly or indirectly, short-term or long-term, affect the recovery of Xishuangbanna’s tourism market. The monitoring work is based on the indicator method of the UNWTO and the actual situation of tourism development in Xishuangbanna, including multi-dimensional and multi-sectional monitoring of resources, environment, residents and tourists. At the same time, in-depth discussions on Xishuangbanna’s unique tourism resources are carried out, including tropical rainforest, tourism products, the evolution of village tourism, border tourism dilemmas, and the night economy of Gaozhuang-xishuang. These efforts identified problems and lead to corresponding measures.
