The Research Centre for Culture and Tourism of the Udayana University established a Sustainable Tourism Observatory in 2017, and assigned by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia to monitor the Sanur Region. Denpasar City of the Bali Province.

To monitor the sustainable tourism in Sanur, the Observatory counts on the involvement from the Minstry of Tourism, Bali Government Tourism Office, Bali Toursm Board, Denpasar Government Tourism Office, Denpasar Hotel and Restaurant Association, Denpasar Tourism Promotion Board, Sanur Development Foundation, Bali Tourism Institute in Nusa Dua, Customary Villages in Sanur, the villages in Sanur, Denpasar Creative Board, and other related stakeholders and NGOs.
