During the 57th UNWTO Regional Commission for the Americas, two Colombian companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, on 24 June 2014.
21 Chilean companies and associations signed the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism during the Official visit of the Secretary General to Chile, on 20 June 2014.
On 29 May 2014 15 Bulgarian associations signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on the occasion of the Official visit of the Secretary-General to Bulgaria.
Fourteen Philippine companies and associations signed the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism at the 26th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia held in Legazpi City, Philippines on 18 May 2014.
Mr. Nahid Bagirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association, signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics during the Official visit of the Secretary-General to Azerbaijan, on 3 April 2014.
During the Signing of the Cooperation Agreement between UNWTO and Qatar Tourism Authority, that took place on the 24th February in Doha, Qatar, 22 companies and associations signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
Eleven prominent Dominican companies signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on the occasion of the International Seminar on Tourism Destinations Management in Cultural Heritage Sites that was held on the 17th of February 2014 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
In December 2013 a total of 17 Portuguese associations signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on the occasion of the 3rd UNWTO International Conference on Tourism and the Media, that took place in Estoril, at the coast of the region of Lisbon.
During the 1st Summit of Presidents of Travel Agencies Associations, that took place on the 7th November in Cordoba, Spain, 12 companies and associations signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. The group included organisations from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa (SUSPENDED), Canada, Greece, Spain, Latvia, Cyprus and Norway.
In October 2013, six prominent European associations signed the Commitment on the occasion of the 12th European Tourism Forum – Tourism, a Force for Economic Growth, Social Change and Welfare (Vilnius, Lithuania), in the presence of H.E. Mr. Evaldas Gustas, Minister of Economy of Lithuania, and Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.
