“Invest in Zambia: Tourism Investment Outlook, Trends, and Opportunities” Event in Madrid
UN Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Zambia recently concluded the "Invest in Zambia: Tourism Investment Outlook, Trends, and Opportunities" event during FITUR in Madrid, on January 23, 2024.
The event exceeded expectations, showcasing Zambia's robust tourism sector and its pivotal role in national and regional socio-economic growth. A highlight was the soft launch of Zambia´s tourism investment guidelines, being developed jointly by UN Tourism in close collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of Zambia, the Zambia Tourism Agency and The Zambia Development Agency, offering key insights into the country's tourism investment climate, promoting its unique value proposition, and highlighting competitive attributes that make it an attractive destination for investors. Mr. Evans Muhanga, Permanent Secretary of Zambia’s Ministry of Tourism, emphasized the launch as a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards fostering sustainable tourism development. This exclusive gathering underscored Zambia's commitment to positioning tourism as a key priority in the national agenda for socio-economic development, with anticipated positive spill-over effects on the African region, significantly contributing to regional economic growth and development. Attendees included key stakeholders, government officials, and industry leaders, affirming Zambia´s appeal as a prime destination for tourism investment. Zambia further extended an invitation to all Member States to the 2nd Regional Conference on Brand Africa to be held from 22 to 24th July 2024, in Livingstone, the Home of the Victoria Falls.
