Inaugurated the UNWTO Executive Education Workshop in United Arab Emirates on “Sustainability in Tourism Destinations” in Partnership with MODUL University Dubai with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE

The UNWTO Executive Education Workshop in the United Arab Emirates on “Sustainability in Tourism Destinations”, organized by the World Tourism Organization, its UNWTO Academy, in partnership with MODUL University Dubai and with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, was inaugurated on 9th of April by Mohamed Elnaggar, Tourism Affairs Expert of the National Tourism Programme from the Ministry of Economy of United Arab Emirates; Basmah Al-Mayman, Director of the Regional Department for the Middle East at UNWTO; Jasmina Popov-Locke, Programme Development Director at MODUL University Dubai; Sònia Figueras, Programme Manager at UNWTO Academy; and the facilitators of the workshop, Ana Baez and Tim Clancy .

Within the UNWTO-UAE Tourism Leadership Programme, a series of executive training initiatives in tourism take place every year with a different topic.

This year the workshop is on Sustainability in Tourism Destinations and in partnership with MODUL University in Dubai.

The 3-day workshop wishes to share - with a step-by-step practical methodology, short presentations, discussions, debates, group work and practical activities - knowledge, processes and tools on global tourism trends, brand types, the experience economy and branding strategies.

Workshop will be held from 9-11 April and counts with the participation of qualified tourism officials and industry professionals from the host country as well as from Australia, Monaco and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
