FOCUS:

The goal of this initiative is to develop a Framework Tourism Law for Andorra that addresses the sector's key needs while incorporating international best practices. This law will be tailored to the country’s unique challenges and opportunities, promoting sustainable benefits for both the local population and visitors

HIGHLIGHTS:

UN Tourism was on the ground from 17-21 February for a second mission to Andorra as part of the process to draft the country’s Framework Tourism Law. Our team engaged with over 70 public and private sector stakeholders to gain in-depth insights into the main challenges and opportunities in the tourism industry. These discussions have laid the foundation for a legal framework that will regulate tourism activities while promoting sustainable, resilient, and competitive growth.

In the coming months, the draft Framework Tourism Law for Andorra will be developed and presented to the government and key stakeholders for feedback. Following this consultation process, the Ministry of Tourism and Commerce will initiate the legislative procedure, with technical support and guidance from UN Tourism to ensure its successful implementation.
