High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (Side Event) - Tourism & Construction: Circular Economy solutions for SDG12
The official side-event is the result of collaboration between two programmes of the One Planet network, new name of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP) since February 2018: The One Planet - Sustainable Tourism Programme, which serves as a collaborative platform to scale up existing initiatives and partnerships and facilitate new projects and activities with potential to accelerate the shift to SCP in the tourism sector. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has been leading the programme since its launch in November 2014, together with the Governments of France (Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition), Morocco (Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy), and the Republic of Korea (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) serving as Co-Leads. The One Planet - Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme which aims at improving the knowledge of sustainable construction and to support and mainstream sustainable building solutions. The programme is led by the government of Finland (Ministry of the Environment) and co-led by the World Green Building Council (WGBC), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and UN Environment. |
