The 34th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia (34th CAP- CSA) took place in the Maldives from 14 - 16 June 2022 at the kind invitation of the government of the Maldives.

The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Maldives’ tourism industry. As part of the golden jubilee celebrations and in conjunction with UNWTO’s 34th CAP-CSA Joint Meeting, UNWTO and the Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives is collaborating to organize the following events in the Maldives from 14 - 16 June 2022:

• 34th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia (34th CAP- CSA)
• UNWTO Ministerial Roundtable on Tourism Resilience through Innovation and Digitalization in Asia and the Pacific
• UNWTO Global Summit on Community-based Tourism

The UNWTO Commission Meetings are UNWTO´s principal annual events in the Asia and the Pacific region, which will be attended by participants from the UNWTO Member States, UNWTO Affiliate Members, and international and regional organizations. Key topics to be discussed this year will include:

• Presentation on UNWTO Programme of Work for 2021-2022
• Discussions related to the UNWTO Asia-Pacific Member States
