Centre Stage Programme | Project Participants
PUBLIC SECTOR
The National Tourism Administrations of Jordan, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico have all participated of the Centre Stage programme. The four administrations worked actively and in close cooperation with UN Tourism over a 1 year period to implement personalized Action Plans specifically designed to help them achieve gender equality in tourism and boost opportunities for women’s empowerment within the sector.
The four participating administrations implemented a series of specific actions such as implement a gender equality policy for the recovery of the tourism sector, provide gender equality training for policy makers or measures to boost female career progression.
Private Sector
In each country, a diverse group of tourism businesses are implementing an Action Plan specifically designed for the private sector.
Among the results, the different participating businesses will provided tailored gender equality trainings, introduce programmes for female career progression and formally commit to ‘equal pay for work of equal value’.
Community and Civil Society
Given the vital role of civil society, social and professional organizations for gender equality, the Centre Stage project is grateful for the valuable support of a diverse group of entities from in all the participating countries, specialized in the following areas:
- Women's empowerment and gender equality;
- Women's rights within Tourism;
- Tourism organizations.
The different organizations and NGOs listed below, form an integral part of the Centre Stage Programme and will support the participating businesses and administrations in their progress, particularly through the implementation of the different activities set in their Action Plans.
