AM Reports Vol. 1 'Technology in Tourism'
This is the first in the collection of in-depth reports on major themes in world tourism today, produced by the Affiliate Members Programme of the World Tourism Organization. Bringing together expert analysis and the latest data, these reports feature input from Affiliate Member organizations and other selected partners.
This first volume ‘Technology in Tourism’, produced with collaborators from IE Business School, features a guide to the travel cycle by Javier González Soria from Google Travel Spain. Apichai Sakulsureeyadej, founder of the Tourism Technology Association discusses the challenges to expansion of technology in the sector, and Antonio Lopez de Ávila of IE Business School explains why no tourism business can be left aside as technology take-up accelerates at an increasingly faster rate. Schönbrunn Palace’s use of social media to enhance the visitor experience is also presented in a case study.
