The UNWTO International Capacity Building Course in Argentina has finalized
The World Tourism Organization, through its UNWTO.Themis Foundation, the Ministry of Tourism of Argentina, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Rio Negro Province and the Ministry of Tourism of San Carlos de Bariloche brought UNWTO International Capacity Building Course in Argentina on Excellence in Tourism Marketing: Social Media in the Tourism Destination to a close on Friday 10th May 2013, in San Carlos de Bariloche, Province of Rio Negro.
The objective of this course was to provide the knowledge, tools and a forum for discussion and reflection on the various communication strategies so as participants can design, plan and manage their global strategy tourist destination that maximizes social media.
This UNWTO.Capacity event included various presentations, group work and field work, facilitated by David Vincent, specialist on Tourism Innovation, relational strategies in tourism knowledge systems, who has more than 15 years of experience in the sector, most of them applying the principles of innovation in organizations, providing a Marketeer approach and developing innovative campaigns based on collective intelligence and cooperative systems; and Johana Cavalcanti, who has over 10 years of experience in Tourism and 8 years of experience in Online Marketing and Electronic Commerce, and, in the last three years, she has been dedicated among other things to research on ROI in Social Media; and has written the book ROI Social Media.
The course was attended by 45 officials from Tourism National, Regional and Local Administrations and academia from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, who had an active and participatory role, and presented the tactic campaign for online content generation and the strategy including social networks as intelligence tools for Dina Huapi San Carlos de Bariloche, El Bolson and the Province.
The closing dinner and ceremony was attended by Casanova Ferro, National Director of Quality Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation; Veronica Llambrich, Director of Tourism Training of the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation; Juan Salguero, Secretary of Tourism of the Rio Negro Province; Fabian Szewczuk, Secretary of Tourism of San Carlos de Bariloche; Omar Valdez, Excecutive Director of the UNWTO.Themis Foundation, Sonia Figueras, UNWTO.Capacity manager of the UNWTO.Themis Foundation and the facilitators: David Vicent and Johana Cavalcanti.
