Exploratory mission was carried out in Chiapas, Mexico
Following a request from the Secretariat of Tourism of Mexico (SECTUR) and the Secretariat of Tourism of the Chiapas State, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), through the UNWTO.Themis Foundation, has conducted a viability study to expand the scope of Chiapas Project 2015 completed in 2008 by UNWTO Volunteers.
This mission, carried out from 11 to 22 March, aimed to study the current tourism potential of coastal western areas for its integration into the plan and define strategies to a more operational level. During this mission, a series of meetings and interviews provided by the SECTUR and the Secretariat of Tourism of the Chiapas State was conducted.
