The UNWTO Practicum first 2010 edition has finalised

With more than 20 participants, the first edition of 2010 Practicum has ended with a closing ceremony attended by the Secretary-General of UNWTO, Mr. Taleb Rifai; the Executive Director for External Relations and Partnerships at UNWTO, Mr. Marcio Favilla; and the President of the UNWTO.Themis Foundation, Mr. Amr Abdel-Ghaffar.

This edition, held in English from 10 to 21 May in Andorra la Vella and Madrid, was focused on Tourism Marketing and was attended by officials from national, regional and / or local tourism, from Angola, Algeria, Egypt, The Gambia, India, Iraq, Israel, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Libya, Mongolia, the Principality of Andorra, the Republic of Maldives, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and Turkey.

The objectives proposed in this initiative were successfully fulfilled with the help of the activities and technical visits from public, private and public-private administrations such as: Barcelona Turisme, Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry of Andorra, Andorra Turisme, Grandvalira, Caldea, Natrulàndia, Casa de la Vall, Turespaña, Consorcio de Toledo and Munimadrid. They were as well complemented with presentations and practical exercises on Tourism Marketing given by Sandra Carvao, Communications Manager of UNWTO; Alessio Poluzzi, Tourism Marketing Expert; and Alex Rayner, E-Tourism Expert.

The UNWTO Practicum is held every year in the framework of the Capacity Building Programme of the UNWTO.Themis Foundation.
