www.tourismscience.ir Call for academic papers On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Homa Hotels Group Co. in cooperation with Allameh Tabataba’i University will hold a conference on October 2nd, 2011 with the theme of "modern hospitality and tourism development" The key objectives of the conference are: 1. To celebrate The World Tourism Day with the motto of "Tourism Linking Cultures." 2. To take advantage of knowledge and experience of academics, scholars, experts, private sector and state officials to promote tourism industry in Iran. 3. To introduce new approaches and achievements in the hotel industry. 4….. This call for papers is to invite international academics, researchers and practitioners to present pertinent issues and researches. Conference Topics of interest include: 1. Islamic –Iranian models of hospitality; 2. Changing patterns of hospitality industry; 3. Hospitality and cultural differences; 4. Conferences, seminars and festivals and the hotel business; 5. Food as a means of propagating cultures; 6. Applying modern technologies to optimize hotel management; 7. Challenges of hotel industry development In Iran; 8. Profitable hotel management in the period of subsidies reform; 9. New sources of energy to reduce energy costs in hotels; 10. Human resources management in hospitality industry; 11. Hospitality and job opportunities for graduates (of food and beverage, marketing, accounting, room management, computer, facilities design etc.); 12. Environmental assessment of hospitality industry in Iran; 13. Interactions of tourism development and modern hospitality. Important dates for Authors: Deadline for abstract submissions: 01 September 2011 (Up to 350 words). Notification of abstract acceptance: 07 September 2011 Final submissions: 17 September 2011 Conference date: 02 October 2011. Conference Location: Tehran, IR Iran. INFO FOR AUTHORS Abstract: A one page abstract about 300 words expressing interest to participate should be sent to homaseminar@gmail.com . All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review. Abstracts should include author(s) names, affiliations and contact details. The abstract should be written in English or Farsi. Full papers: Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to submit full papers by 17 September 2011 to be included in the conference proceedings. The final paper must be between 6-15 pages up to a maximum of 9000 words including the bibliography (Style: Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing, 12pts, referencing to follow Harvard style). Publication Opportunities: All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (author needs to be registered to the conference). It is also anticipated that selected papers will be published in a special edition of an established tourism journal.
