IMC Celebrating World Tourism Day

The Indian Merchants’ Chamber has been celebrating World Tourism Day for past two years aimed at promoting tourism in India and fostering global cultural understanding. The celebrations will commence with welcome songs by students from the Happy Home and School for the Blind followed by cultural dances from different countries of the world. Among the delegates will be Consul Generals and diplomats of several countries, leading travel agents, tour operators, representatives from media and other distinguished members of the Chamber. The Sri Lankan Airlines will conduct lucky draws for three free economy class round tickets to Europe, South-East Asia and Colombo. The Indian Merchants’ Chamber, an advocacy body of trade, commerce and industry with a strong base in western region, and membership from across the countries, represents voice of over 250,000 businesses from diverse areas of industries, both in terms of sectors and scale. Through interactive dialogues, seminar and conferences with various stakeholders in industry and government and representations on economic, political and social issues, it contributes to formation of policies that are conducive to sustained, equitable and inclusive growth of the country. With that in mind, I have selected Inclusive Growth as theme for the year.
