Celebration of the World Tourism Day in Italy

The celebration of the World Tourism Day in Italy includes two major events organized around  the theme of this year dedicated to “Tourism and Sustainable Energy: Powering Sustainable Development”:

              On the 27 September 2012

The Italian Minister for Regional Affairs, Tourism and Sport Piero Gnudi will sign an agreement aimed at the adoption of the principles of the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics by the Italian regions, the most important national associations of the tourism industry and the national organizations of social and responsible tourism.

The initiative is part of the commitment of the Italian Government to the promotion and dissemination of the Code among all tourism stakeholders and is aimed at translating into real practice the principles of the Code. It is also a mean to formalize at institutional level best practices already adopted by the tourism industry and foster their replicability.
