7th UNWTO Silk Road Ministers’ Meeting at ITB Berlin 2017
With the support of Messe Berlin, the UNWTO Silk Road Programme organized the seventh edition of the annual Silk Road Ministers Meeting. Celebrating 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, this year’s meeting focused on the impact sustainable tourism policies and practices have on local Silk Road communities.
As a region home to outstanding natural landscapes and cultural heritage sites that transcend individual countries, sustainability is a vital issue for the Silk Road. By agreeing upon a common approach, Silk Road countries agreed to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development agenda.
