Air Connectivity and its Impact on Tourism in Asia and the Pacific
This publication includes a series of case studies from cities in Asia and the Pacific that illustrate the crucial role of air transport as an engine of economic growth and job creation. It shows how well-designed and well-coordinated tourism and air transport policies can underspin the growth of tourism while emphasizing the role of low-cost carriers (LCCs) in the transformation of air transport in the region.
The study was developed by UNWTO, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia and the Pacific Cities (TPO), with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea.
