UNWTO 25th General Assembly Media Spots
The World Tourism Organization of the United Nations (UNWTO) invites you to seize a unique opportunity to follow up close the upcoming 25th UNWTO General Assembly (16-20 October, Samarkand, Uzbekistan). #UNWTO25 will gather top representatives of the Organization’s Member States, and international tourism leaders from the public and private sectors, local authorities, academia, and media.
About UNWTO:
UNWTO is the United Nations agency responsible for promoting responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism. Held every two years, the General Assembly is UNWTO’s top governing body serving as a platform for stakeholders to share insights, strategies, and initiatives that shape the future of the tourism sector.
Hosted Media Slots: UNWTO is providing 5 media slots to cover #UNWTO25 as part of its commitment to encourage media involvement and shape the tourism for development narrative. Journalists from all over the world are welcome to apply to attend.

Selection Criteria: Interested journalists are encouraged to submit their pitch for the media sponsorship by providing the following:
- Work Portfolio: Submit a selection of your best works (up to 5 examples) related to travel, tourism, or relevant global issues. Display your ability to provide insightful, well-researched, and engaging content. (File format should be in .pdf or .docx and the file should not exceed 50MB)
- Motivation: Clearly explain in not more than 300 words why you are eager to cover the UNWTO General Assembly. Elaborate on how your coverage can contribute to disseminating valuable insights from the event to a global audience. (File format should be in .pdf or .docx and file should not exceed 50MB)
- Innovation and Diversity: UNWTO values diversity in media representation. Consider how your perspective as a journalist can bring unique viewpoints or innovative approaches to the coverage in 300 words. (File format should be in .pdf or .docx and file should not exceed 50MB)
- Audience Reach: Highlight the scope, reach and influence of your media outlet or platform. Give us an idea of how your coverage will enable the UNWTO messages to reach a broad and relevant audience in not more than 200 words. (File format should be in .pdf or .docx and file should not exceed 50MB)
