Exhibition and Panel: Sustainable Development Goals for Change

University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica in partnership with Sloga - NGO Platform for Development, Global Education and Humanitarian Aid and the Portorož Tourist Board on the occasion of World Tourism Day, invites you to an exhibition and round table discussion entitled "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS FOR CHANGE".
The exhibition will open on Friday, 27 September 2024 at 11:00 in the 2nd floor Hall (Obala 11a, Portorož), followed by a panel discussion in the Blue Lecture Room (201), where representatives of the tourism sector, sustainable development researchers and humanitarian organisations will highlight how the Sustainable Development Goals are linked to tourism and peace at the global level. The discussion will be held in Slovenian language.
The panel speakers will be:
- Dubravka Kalin, Director General, Directorate for Tourism, Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Slovenia
- Emil Juvan, Dean of University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica
- Irena Fonda, Director of the Institute for Biodiversity Conservation YouSea Marine Oasis Piran
- Mirna Buić, Project Manager of the cultural and educational association PiNA Koper
The panel will be moderated by Nataša Novak, Communications Manager of the NGO platform Sloga.
The event is part of the efforts to raise awareness of global goals, tourism and peace among the general public, as promoted by the World Tourism Organisation (UN WTO). The event will be closed with a small refreshment. The exhibition will be on display until 14 October 2024 at the Avla Turistica exhibition centre.
