Aura 2024: Lighting the Path to Global Understanding

The tourism undergraduates of Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC Research University) have organized a Peace Camp in their university premises on the 10th and 11th of October 2024 under the theme "Aura 2024- Lighting the path to Understanding".
The aim of Aura 2024 is to create a platform that fosters cross-cultural understanding and promotes peace through tourism. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds including university students, travellers, industry experts, and yoga and mediation instructors, where the peace camp seeks to highlight tourism’s role as a catalyst for mutual respect, collaboration, and reconciliation.
The project aims to empower future tourism leaders with the knowledge and tools to contribute to global peacebuilding efforts, aligning with the World Tourism Day 2024 theme: Tourism and Peace.
Through interactive workshops, cultural exchange, multi-cultural culinary competitions, and closing with a CSR project of cleaning the nearby Ancient Buddhist temple and a mosque, Aura 2024 aspires to demonstrate how tourism can bridge divides and cultivate lasting harmony between nations and communities.
