The Tourism Department Government of Punjab is fully cognizant of the untapped economic potential of tourism sector in Punjab. In order to tap this potential Tourism Department is planning to develop Punjab as a tourism hub of high quality facilities and services. Tourism Department has launched multiple initiatives to promote the local festivals and heritage within Pakistani communities and abroad. The overall goal of the programme is to increase preservation and promotion of Punjab’s indigenous heritage and promotion of responsible cultural tourism. This year following the theme provided by UNWTO and topics provided by them Tourism Department Punjab has planned to invite experts on Rethinking Tourism, The Tourism We Want & A New Governance for Recovery. The expert will present there work on above said topics and a detailed panel discussion will be held. Through this discussion all minutes will be recorded and shared with all the stakeholders and UNWTO as well.
