National Seminar on Rethinking Tourism: Strategies for Developing Domestic tourism in India.

Calender Text
Now Tourism and Hospitality industry is genuinely recognized as a core pillar of development and employment opportunities. Moreover, thanks to the unique breadth of the sector, touching on almost every part of our societies, it has the power to drive recovery and get the tourism community back on track. For people, it is a leading employer and provider of opportunities, most notably for women, youth, and rural communities.

For our planet, the tourism sector helps safeguard habitat and species – witness how the sudden halt in tourist arrivals has led to an increase in habitat destruction and wildlife poaching in many parts of the world.
Tourism has also been leading by example in facing up to its climate responsibilities. The innovation driving the sector forward can help us build a more sustainable future for all.

The seminar will also give an appropriate platform to showcase the talent, creativity, and innovation of future tourism and hospitality professionals through various inter-college/ inter-university competitions:-
1. Tourism Quiz Contest
2. Craft it- Itinerary Designing competition
3. Life on earth- Poster Making Contest
4. Dekho Mera Desh/Pradesh- Traditional Modelling Competition
5. Skit Competition (responsible tourism/climate change/nature-based T. etc.)
6. Meri Kashi Mera pride - Photographic Essay Competition
7. Folk Lore- Folk Dance Competition

The purpose of such competitions is to encourage and promote professional skills, team building, creativity, and innovativeness in youth by providing them exposure to competition among their peers and inculcating within them the concept of creating, applying, and developing innovative thinking, which will enrich and enhance their learning and knowledge.
Dr. A.K. Singh & Dr. P.S. Rana (Seminar Organisers)

Roundtable Debate/Discussion on Rethinking Tourism in Timor-Leste

Calender Text
Over the years, there has been much debate about how to overcome the barriers to developing Timor-Leste’s tourism sector. But now, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the emerging effects of climate change have brought a new urgency – and opportunity – to re-boot tourism, and to engage in some innovative, creative and courageous thinking about the path to take in years to come. Today’s debate aims to launch that process, within the structure of the National Tourism Policy.

The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day is “Rethinking Tourism”, and rightly so. We all know that the pandemic has severely impacted our industry and disproportionately on women. We need to empower our workforce to be more inclusive to address this imbalance. Specifically, both men and women need to work together to bring gender equity at par for building a sustainable model for our organizations and our industry.

Rethinking Tourism & Hospitality: Leading Towards an Inclusive Future is an event Organized by Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management and Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with World Women Tourism

This event will address a critical dialogue regarding the challenges facing women in our industry. In the event, we will discuss how we can implement strategies for women to be more visible at work, redesign the future, and how men can be better allies to our women co-workers. The event aims to advance the dialogue on gender equity in hospitality and how ACA can champion this in Nepal.
