JAPAN FEDERATION OF SERVICE AND TOURISM INDUSTRIES WORKERS´ UNIONS (SERVICE-RENGO) was established in July 2001 with the aim of impoving the working conditions of all workers engaged in the hotel and tourism industry, raising their social status and promoting the sustainable development of the hotel and tourism industry.

From a perspective that hotel and tourism workers´ employment and livelihood are based upon the sustainable development of the industry, Service Rengo considers it is important for the organization to make industrial policy proposals and promote their implementation from the viewpoint of workers. This is why Service Rengo endeavors to enhance its research activities, and thereby strengthen its ability to present wise proposals. By doing so we are aiming at helping the promotion of socially fair tourism activities and the sustainable development of the tourism industry as a whole.
