Signing ceremony: Spain
La primera ceremonia de firma tuvo lugar en 2011 en Madrid, España, en el marco del I Congreso Internacional de Ética y Turismo (15-16 de septiembre de 2011) a la presencia de Su Alteza Real el Príncipe Felipe y la Princesa Letizia de Asturias, el Ministro de Turismo de España, el Secretario General de la OMT, el Secretario General de Turespaña, el Presidente de UNICEF España y el Presidente del Comité Mundial de Ética del Turismo.
Once empresas españolas firmaron el compromiso en esta ocasión: Agrupación de Cadenas Hoteleras de Baleares; Amadeus IT Group; ASHOTEL; Federación Española de Asociaciones de Agencias de Viajes; Federación Empresarial Hotelera de Mallorca; Grupo Barceló; Grupo Iberostar; Iberia; Melia Hotels International; NH Hotels; and Orizonia.
